Saints Presser at 2:45 p.m. ET on NFLN TODAY!
The hype for the NFC Championship Game will really kick into high gear Wednesday as the Saints return to practice.
Once upon a time, before the media and society became so immediate, the NFL used to hold press conferences for each conference title game on Fridays. The coach and selected players for the visiting team would come in and each team would do a big and very formal press conference. But the league has moved the main press conference to Wednesdays and the Saints and Vikings each will do their media obligations from their own facilities. Same for the AFC teams. Out in Metairie, La., the Saints will start at 2:45 p.m. ET and the event will be carried live on NFL Network and you’ll see dozens of clips on just about every other television station. The Saints’ contingent will feature Sean Payton, quarterback Drew Brees, linebacker Jonathan Vilma and defensive end Will Smith. I know there are a lot of fans who talk about New Orleans being a small market and some of them claim the Saints don’t get enough respect. Well, they’re going to be on the national stage starting today. I plan to be in Metairie in time for the press conference and will bring you all the highlights Wednesday afternoon. LINK |
