You'd Think They Just Won the Super Bowl
The way Bret Favre carried on after the game yesterday reminded me of another place in time, when a bunch of idiots over reacted to a win. Maybe SP should bring this up at a team meeting.
(Chuck) Noll gathered his team in that Monday, and, like always, broke down the pluses and minuses of their previous game. Then he launched into a lecture and slammed a chalkboard. "He said, 'Guys, the people in Oakland think the Super Bowl was played yesterday and the best team was in that game,'" (Mean Joe)Greene says. "'I want you guys to know the Super Bowl will be played two weeks from now, and the best team in the National Football League is sitting right here.' "From that moment on, regardless of what went on at the start of the game, I knew the Raiders weren't going to win it. I've never had that feeling before or after that [the other] team had no chance." Funny, it took the Pittsburgh Steelers 40 years to bring home a Super Bowl. Maybe, just maybe, our time has come. We've already waited our 40 years. Saints: Lets make sure, this Sunday night, Brett Favre's pants are on the ground. Read the whole story here: Chuck Noll's legacy alive and well - ESPN Banjojoe |

What did you expect Brett Favre to do, cower in the corner instead of enjoying the victory for a little bit? Dont be as sensitive as Keith Brooking and dont take it as a slight on your team. Trust me, we respect the Saints but we're not conceding defeat either.

I just DON'T want to watch him cry again... As long as he doesn't do that? I'm ok with Favre. His last few years in Green Bay, he was bawling after every damn game... I think he is bi polar or something.

Re: You'd Think They Just Won the Super Bowl
How dare they be happy about having a QB taking a team he just joined this season a few days after training camp was nearly through to the NFC Championship in that same year at the age of 40.
The nerve! C'mon ya'll i think i can recall a few years back umm 2006? Atlanta/Saints Superdome beat down? Ya'll didn't think that celebration was Superbowlish to most people? it beat the ratings of most superbowls and that game was done better than any superbowl i've ever witnessed in my life! |

The great fans of New Orleans and the Gulf South are accustomed to it, and would be surprised to hear anything different. Now on to Brett Favre. Well, Brett Favre was jumping around like he had just found his lost GI Joe. And why? Because he had just orchestrated a run-up-the-score touchdown drive against a team that merited a bit more than public humiliation. But Brett Favre was more than eager to provide the Cowboys with just that. To compare the two situations is absurd in the extreme. Don't mess with people's legends, their myths. Don't even make reference to them. You are not worthy. By the way, good post, Banjojoe. |

I kept myself from watching that stupid celebration because I am suffering from serious BFF (Brent Farvore Fatigue). It was by accident I finally saw it today. Did any other teams celebrate like this last week? My God, not only was that not a Super Bowl win it wasn't even an NFCC game win. Then again considering the participants I'm not at all surprised.

The Vikes were celebrating and the whole "Pants on the Ground" thing was stupid... but very funny. I imagine he's just trying to keep it light. I have seen Brees' pre-game "HURRAH" activities, which is pretty .... um... interesting. Cowpies must have liked it, Brookings is now doing it... but he stole his more from Strahan I think. Whatever, Vikes don't need anybody to motivate them... their self motivated and focused to get to the Super Bowl. IMO, after game celebrations are better than the 1998 "Dirty Bird" crap the Falcons did.
