Elway: The ratings game (for WhoDat..)

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think what WhoDat is suggesting and correct me if I\'m wrong, is that he feels another QB could throw for more than 27 TD\'s and 3,500 yards in our offense. But, the fact is that\'s guest a personal opinion ...

I think what WhoDat is suggesting and correct me if I\'m wrong, is that he feels another QB could throw for more than 27 TD\'s and 3,500 yards in our offense. But, the fact is that\'s guest a personal opinion and we know Aaron can put up those numbers. Elway also talks about 3rd down conversion rate as a big factor in evaluating a QB, which I agree with. Go look at Aaron\'s -- it\'s one of the tops in the league. Imagine how much more effective our offense would be with a good defense.

Elway: The ratings game (for WhoDat..)

quote from elway -
\"Right after the head coach, the quarterback is next in line as far as being responsible for wins and losses. So it\'s hard for me to understand why winning and losing wouldn\'t be part of the passing efficiency rating.\"

This one statement tells it all for me. Two thoughts came to mind when I read that. 1. the blind leading the blind. and 2. its about wins and losses not individual stats.

Ps. I beleive there are probably at least 20 other QB\'s who could have put up the same if not more stats last year.

Ps2. Brooks is not the problem of the team this year!

FWtex -- There are two things that come to mind when I read your post.

1.) You think that the QB should bear the responsibility of winning and losing. If that\'s the case -- Peton Manning should be cut.

2.) You think 20 QB\'s could have put up as good or BETTER numbers than Brooks -- You must think that the coaches are doing a GREAT job if any old QB can step right in and do a terrific job.

Or you could look at it like - \"Wow, this Saints offense is STACKED. Brooks has a ton of weapons and the west coast system gives those weapons a better chance to shine.\"
