Was that Jerry Romig's last game?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I had heard all season that this was Jerry Romig's last season as the PA announcer. Does anyone know if that's true or not? If so, what a friggin way to go out. His last call would be Garrett Hartley ...

Was that Jerry Romig's last game?

I had heard all season that this was Jerry Romig's last season as the PA announcer. Does anyone know if that's true or not? If so, what a friggin way to go out. His last call would be Garrett Hartley sending the Saints to the Super Bowl! WOW!!!

Great way to go but man, it won't be the same with out that voice. Maybe he should teach the new guy to say teckle instead of tackle. LOL

Haha...also needs to teach him..."Brees passing complete" and "Brees pass incomplete" you can't tell the difference between the two.

I'll never forget, it was an Eagles Saints game in Tulane Stadium and the Eagle QB was Pete Liske (yes, I am that old) who threw a pass into the crowd behind the Eagle bench and there was no receiver anywhere in the vicinity. No flag, the boos start and after awhile Romig says "Liskes pass to anyone, incomplete."

Romig was/is a great New Orleans fixture. If he does decide to hang up the mike, here's wishing him all the best in retirement.
