Re: Saints/Colts Breakdown Kinda Long but Covered all Bases in 1 Thread
The trouble with stats... is they don't take into account the strength of opponents. Ya'll might take this wrong... but the AFC is stronger than the NFC. It has been for a while. I know the Saints are good. But overall the NFC is a weaker conference than the AFC.
If you check the stats.. the AFC has a 10 game win advantage over the NFC in head to head games this season. From a winning % standpoint... the AFC South is the toughest division in football, winning 38 games this year. The NFC South won only 33 games. That skews the naked stats some. How much? Anyone's guess. I think the oddsmakers are right on, as they usually are. The Colts have an advantage here and probably should be favored. By no means does that mean it's a lock. They play the games for a reason, and that is ANYTHING can, and often does happen. Who was it that broke the Saints winning streak? Oh yeah Dallas... Ok they were a quality team this year, as much as I despise the Cowboys. Point is... the Saints are a lot BETTER team and still lost to them. It's gonna be fun guys... and in a situation like this... I am gonna be happy for whoever wins. Good luck... but not TOO good. Jabba |
