Re: Times have changed
The Times They Are A-Changin' Come gather 'round people Wherever you roam And admit that the waters Around you have grown And accept it that soon You'll be drenched to the bone. If your time to you Is worth savin' Then you better start swimmin' Or you'll sink like a stone For the times they are a-changin'. Come writers and critics Who prophesize with your pen And keep your eyes wide The chance won't come again And don't speak too soon For the wheel's still in spin And there's no tellin' who That it's namin'. For the loser now Will be later to win For the times they are a-changin'. Come senators, congressmen Please heed the call Don't stand in the doorway Don't block up the hall For he that gets hurt Will be he who has stalled There's a battle outside And it is ragin'. It'll soon shake your windows And rattle your walls For the times they are a-changin'. Come mothers and fathers Throughout the land And don't criticize What you can't understand Your sons and your daughters Are beyond your command Your old road is Rapidly agin'. Please get out of the new one If you can't lend your hand For the times they are a-changin'. The line it is drawn The curse it is cast The slow one now Will later be fast As the present now Will later be past The order is Rapidly fadin'. And the first one now Will later be last For the times they are a-changin'. |
Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!

Re: Times have changed
I've lived in South Dakota most of my life, and I was 'friends' with a lot of Packers, Vikings and Broncs fan. I remember them asking me every year who I was gonna root for to win the Super Bowl that year.
My answer: "The Saints. Like I do every year" They would laugh at me, and say things like, "Why don't you root for a real team? or "Yeah right, you'll be lucky if they finish 4-12 this year." Every year, I rooted for my Saints, and when their teams went to the playoffs, and mine went home for the season, I would continually get ripped on. "See what happens when you pick a team that sucks! Ha ha!" As of this year, I noticed these same people (yes, I still talk to them) rooting for the Saints, posting Who Dat (I about ripped one of them a new bumhole for that) and saying things like, "Oh I've liked the Saints the whole time. I just like the [insert other team name here] better." But one thing I do notice, when the issue of bandwagoners comes up, they all defend me saying, "Yeah, she's the only legit Saints fan I know." Kinda nice...but still. Get off our wagon, haters. There's no love for you |

Re: Times have changed
Yeah unfortunately we all have had to root for other teams when the Playoffs and The SuperBowl have come around. Not this year thanks to Dr. Brees and company we are going to the big dance.

Re: Times have changed
I want to go to Natchitoches, which is where Hebert went to college, btw, and see some black and gold being worn. I'm looking forward to going to Cane River Mall, and seeing some Saints stuff for sale. I want to go to places like Many, Zwolle, or Pleasant Hill, and get Who Dat'ed.
I am seriously thinking of going to Mardi Gras in Mamou. I wonder if anyone knows where these places are? |

Re: Times have changed
My mom says there are now three classifications of Saints fans.
Who Dats!!!!....... have been there since birth. New Dats........... Just got here in the past 20 years. Re-Dats.............Were here once or twice, then left to root for the cowboys, packers, patriots or Jake Delhomme and now have come back. |

Re: Times have changed
Times are changing, but there is nothing new under the sun. The same things that draw you will drive you. When all the hooplah has died down, and the pendulum has swung back to a rebuilding cycle, we will be back to having plenty of elbow room at the Black&Gold table. But for now, its kind of nice to be living Mardi Gras mode everyday.

Re: Times have changed
I bet you had to look that up to make sure you were spelling it right...and pronouncing it is a whole different story. I grew up next door where we pronounced most syllables the way they were spelled...maybe with a little twang...but this one, if I'm correct, is pronounced something like...
