Plus a run-blocking offensive line. The Chargers had the worst YPC average in the NFL last year and next-to-last in total team rushing yards. The Saints were 6th in the NFL in rushing yards, but only after tapering off a little toward the end of the season while playing from behind in a few games, so they had to pass more. I know our RB core is a lot younger and fresher than LT (who I think was ridden into the ground in S.D.), but he could possibly rejuvenate his career with a team that has a solid run-blocking O-line...whether it is with us or with another team. With the contract status of our current backs in question, I would be o.k. with bringing him in for an incentive-laden one-year deal, and if he is willing to share carries with P.T. (who BETTER be re-signed) Honestly, though, I prefer the backs we have, but I would take him over Mike Bell right now.
