Much better wrong in these cases than right!!

I too was a little down after the TB game (in fact I had to go to a dinner with TB fans right after - eww!!)

I remember Shockey from U of M - Always intense. I think a lot the problems he had in NY were meida driven/created. The NYC media could make Brees look bad if they wanted to.

I was skeptical on Shockey, especially after he spent most of last year hurt. I thought Sharper was past his prime too. I ate my words after week two on both of them.

Am I the only person here that rejoiced when we got Shockey? Even at half-speed teams have to account for him. I loved it then and I love it now.

However, I thought we should wash our hands of Henderson. I liked him, and I wanted to see the 'local' guy do good, but I was tired of watching him drop balls and was ready to cut bait. He really upped his game and has become a legitimate WR in the NFL.

Yep I got Shockey wrong. Thought he would be another who just came for the money. Thought SP was crazy sometimes and really wondered if he could execute the master plan. As for Brees - I was always happy he came to the Saints

When the Saints got Drew Brees, I kind of felt like it was a good step in the right direction. Honestly, I knew he was a decent QB, but never really expected him to be great. As that 2006 season progressed, I was totally blown away by Brees. Watching him do his work is just a thing of beauty.

As for Shockey, I was a big fan of him when he first entered the NFL, but that cooled off big time. When the Saints got him I wasn't too sure if it was a good move or not. For some reason it seems like he got butt hole guy labeled on him. After watching him and understanding him he is the ultimate team player and a real asset to the Saints.

You weren't alone on Shockey. I wanted him, too. We hadn't had a legitimate threat at TE in years. I loved the idea of trading for him. I'm kind of with you on Henderson. He had teflon hands up until the '08 season. He got much better at catching the ball, but I wanted to see if he could do it for two years in a row. Kind of a "too good to be true" feeling that I had with him. He proved me wrong once again. He's become not only a deep threat, but a solid all-around threat.

I was a huge supporter of getting Shockey back when the trade was in the works so when it went down I had a feeling we had landed something special just didn't know he would mean this much to the team

I thought we were going to play the Packers in the NFCG and thought it couuld go either way... I was wrong. :) Other than that, I try to remain optimistic about everyone.

Sean Payton-- I think I mistook desire to win for arrogance. For that, I apologize. Coach is an offensive genius, and I tip my hat to him. I don't know if the Saints could have gone all the way with anyone else. He didn't let me down on the gambling issue, but I love the way it turned-out.

Drew Brees-- I never doubted his talent, didn't care for the rah-rah business...but it grew on me a little. He won a bunch of big games this year against teams with winning records. He came out a winner in the biggest game of his life. Drew...welcome to elite status.

Jeremy Shockey-- I admit that Shockey was a part of this championship and deserves credit for that. He played hurt and I admire that in any player. I was against the trade, but he was a part of the team that fulfilled a lifelong dream, so I have to admit that the trade was most definitely worth it.

So...there it is. Who Dat!
