Saints shopping some RFA's
2010-02-23 10:23:02
Mike Triplett, of the New Orleans Times-Picayune, reports the New Orleans Saints may attempt to seek trades for some of their restricted free agents, especially at offensive tackle, where they have three experienced players in OT Jammal Brown, OT Jermon Bushrod and OT Zach Strief. Love the depth at tackle. Brown would be the one I send packing. He would bring the highest trade value and he is coming off a injury. Any thoughts? |
Re: Saints shopping some RFA's
Tough call, would really hate to lose any of these guys. But, I guess with the Saints having a luxury of three potential starters at LT, it may be wise to deal one if it means beefing up another position. I guess if one had to go, I would probably have to agree with dealing Brown. Kind of tough to deal a two time pro bowler, but he is coming off injury and would still bring the highest gain in a trade.

of the three right now i see stinch having the better value..did i say that?...injury history is the only thing I see as the main reason.

Re: Saints shopping some RFA's
It doesn't say they're shopping them, it says they may attempt to seek trades.
Sounds like pure specuation on Mike's part. |
Re: Saints shopping some RFA's
The Saints may attempt to sign Julius Peppers, trade for Vince Wilfork, and Casey Hampton making us the probable Superbowl winners for next season.
Being that Brown is coming off injury, this could be a big sell low if we decided to move him. |

Re: Saints shopping some RFA's
Trading brown would mean taking a haircut on value. No GM would be so stupid. His value goes up after he's been seen in full contact drills during camp. Someone in another thread noted that it's a buyer's market, and it is more so for anyone coming off injured reserve.

Re: Saints shopping some RFA's
we cant afford to trade a starting LT like brown without serious compensation for him and im afraid the trade would benefit the other team more
what team needs a starting LT and will give up a pro bowl type talent at a position we need? not many... IMO trading brown is a bad thought all together |
Re: Saints shopping some RFA's
Tough call. Wasn't Strief used as an additional blocker on the line. Hell I think he actually went in motion on some plays. If that is the case you keep all 3. Odds are one is going down with injury again this year. Bushrod was a servicable backup and Strief an additional blocker. Depends on Offensive strategy this year.
