Tied games in the regular season and keep it as it is in the post season. You can't win it in 60 minutes? Too bad. |

Re: New OT Rule
It doesn't get simpler or more exciting than SUDDEN DEATH.
Both sides getting the ball is just crybaby college BS. The college system is stupid. It is as bad as penalty kicks in soccer. I'd rather overtime be mud wrestling between opposing cheer squads than both sides get a turn. ![]() |

Re: New OT Rule
I agree with Toby that a tie is not the end of the world in regular season. We had ties in football for 60 years, and everybody did just fine. I agree with Gumbeau that the college system is stupid.
If you dont want to lose the game to a coin toss, then win the damn game in regulation. Or come out and play defense. Does anybody remember we lost the coin toss to the Redskins in OT, then got a turnover & won the game? ScottF touched on the final answer, though. If they extend OT, then the NFL can sell more commercials. Guess what they're gonna do???? The last thing I want to see is more change. The worst thing the NFL can do is **** with a good thing. If you must have change, here's one. Eliminate replay, and call the game on the field, like we did for 90 years. Replay is just a 2nd chance to blow the call. My kids were bored to death by the last game they saw. No wonder they watch wrestling. Just play ball. |
