That 40 time sounds about right. I almost fell off my chair when they posted that 4.24 number. That's Deoin Sanders fast, and he should be put on the corner. I am actually torn on Mays. His Senior season really was not up to what I thought it would be and the first player that comes to mind is Dallas' old safety Roy Williams. I just don't think he can cover the deep ball, so he'd have to go to a team like the Saints where we have two elite corners that can protect him and let him roam the middle of the field ala Roman Harper. Let's just say he's no Eric Berry, but still a first round pick as he is an absolute thumper against the run.

Re: Taylor Mays...USC
the point is moot since he will be gone 20 picks before we select, but I'll ask anyway
you guys are saying you would NOT want Mays in our defensive backfield? |

Re: Taylor Mays...USC
He won't be gone twenty picks before us. More than likely he goes to a team in the late teens early twenties. Probably 10 picks before us. But I get your point. He won't be around. I think the main point is that we don't need him. We just tendered Roman Harper as at a 1st round pick level so we must think pretty highly of him. I'd say he and Mays are very similar in playing style and Harper has a Superbowl ring.

Re: Taylor Mays...USC
We are all set at Safety guys. Really. Harper, Sharper (I still think he comes back), Malcolm Jenkins (our free safety this year or next) Usama Young, Chip Vaughn, Chris Reis (ST hawk). You don't need more than 6 safeties guys.
You really don't need more than 5. |

also stanley arnoux could possibly play safety as well so we got our safeties of the future unless sharper leaves then we might have to scramble for a starter |

Re: Taylor Mays...USC
If Sharper leaves, Jenkins starts at Safety. At that point I'd be interested in another CB in round 2-4 for depth and to push Gay for playing time.
