He was a part of the Packers' community and to a lesser extent the Vikes' as well. Canton OH is chock full of Packers. He is not considered one of their greats. Starr yes. Sharper, no. His time in Minnesota probably won't be his fondest memories, nor will his play there be remembered as his best. He is a Super Bowl Champion Saint now. He will always be associated with the wonderful feelings that we, as fans have. Our 1st (hopefully of many) Championship! Sharper's 1st too. We LOVE our players! We are new to this "Champions" stuff, but we are well versed in appreciating our players. Whether it be HOF Saint "City Champ" Rickey Jackson, Sam Mills, Vaughn Dunbar, Pat Swilling or nearly all that we have seen come and go. We LOVE them! They are Saints! Darren is in a position to be remembered as a damn good Safety in Green Bay, a good Safety in Minnesota, or a GOD in Louisiana! His life after football here in La would be pretty nice I think. |
I'm no one.

The ol' sayin' that "money talks and BS walks" certainly applies here. Again, JMO. |

Thats to bad. You just can't over pay for someone. Sharper had a great year last year. Do we really think he can repeat it. I do want him back.

Re: Sharper "Not feeling the love" from Saints
I said this earlier guys, and I'm going to say it again. I don't blame ANYONE for wanting to get paid
for a good job done, scheme, or no scheme, HE did the work, not us, and not the coaching staff, or management. Everyone wants to get paid for their work. If u guys want to think this way, then how about every player, for every team, get paid the exact same amount? If its a team game, then how about the entire team get paid the same? We all know that isn't going to happen. Players who get the bigger paychecks, get them because they earned them. Sharper earned this, I mean COME ON. We were all going nuts over this guy, almost the entire season, and now we are turning on him, questioning HIS loyalty? This is ridiculous. He did the job asked of him, now he deserves to get paid for it. That's it. |

Re: Sharper "Not feeling the love" from Saints
Like I said, Porter and Greer had more to do with his success than he had to do with theirs.
I find it funny how some players b*tch and moan when their team puts the franchise tag, and Sharper was damn near begging us to do it. Now that he has his freedom he is upset that we are letting him test the market. At some point the realization of the situation will become apparent. No team is going to over extend in years or dollars in this economy on a 34 year old safety. |

So, if he wants to get his ass kicked in Chicago or wherever, go for it Sharp! He's not our future anyway, so get a good front seven, so we have a pass rush. Greer and Porter on the corners, and i'll take jenkins at safety.
