I keep harping on Hebert, but why don't people feel animosity toward him? What he did was hundreds times worse, IMO.

For the record, I could take him or leave him...but I'm kinda glad he will get another shot in Cleveland. He would never get that shot here unless Brees went down, and we don't even want to think about that.

Jake can be a jerk at times, also...so this whole thing played out pretty good as far as I'm concerned.
He was not forced out of town. He signed with Carolina as a backup, of his own free will, which was his role in N.O. at the time. He failed to win the starting job in Carolina just as he failed to win it in N.O.

Bobby never proclaimed his undying love for Atlanta like Jake has done recently for Carolina. Mike thinks he's getting a leader in Cleveland. I think he's getting an average, at best, QB on the downside of his career. Hell, they could have signed Brunell for the same performance and about half the money. Oh well...it's their money, not mine.

I wish Jake the best too, but I'm extatic that he's not going to be back in N.O. Giddy. Joyous. Relieved. Thankful.

C'mon Man...

To me, he was forced out of town. When you are not allowed to start when the starter obviously is injured, then you know right there that you probably aren't going to get a chance unless the starter's arm gets ripped off.

As it was, he saw a better chance to win a starting job in Carolina...and ultimately he was right.

Haslett and crew mortgaged the farm on AB and we were force-fed the smiling idiot even when he couldn't get the job done physically. If I would have been in JD's situation, I'm sure I would have done the same thing...and I'm sure he's glad he went there, too.

Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!

Well, we know which side of the debate you were on. I think it's funny that every discussion about Delhomme comes back to Brooks when Delhomme was undrafted, cut several times, and failed to crack the starting lineup for at least three coaches, yet it all gets washed down to Jake being 'robbed' by Haz and Brooks.

If you tell yourself something long enough you eventually begin to think it's true. I think this is what has happened to a lot of Jake Delhomme fans.

Give me a break. Where is AB today? Where is JD?

Nobody is saying JD is the greatest thing since sliced bread...nor am I saying that I'm disappointed. As I said earlier, I'm glad it worked out the way it did.

On the other hand, if you can't recognize that JD was at least as capable as AB as a starter, then it is my opinion that you are the one who was biased in the whole thing.

AB had two things going against him. He didn't know when to take a sack or throw it away...consequently providing yards and yards of AFV material...
and even more agitating were the smiles that always followed.

Whether you think you can or think you can't...you're right!

Yes...yes they do. Maybe this entered into Jake's thinking. It's like, "Hey, I got nothing to lose."

Can you imagine what a jolt to his career it could be if somehow he managed to guide the Brownies to the playoffs...or God forbid...further on?

Just remember, it wasn't that long ago, when New Orleans was considered an NFL graveyard as well. It only takes one championship to change that mentallity. We of all people should know that.

just remember it took us over 40 years to win a super bowl

the browns have officially been in the league only 11 since they were basically an expansion team in '99

not to mention....there is only 1 football city in the entire country that has not sent a team to the super bowl or hosted the super bowl

and that my friends is the mistake by the lake....but it might as well be in the lake

Jake didn't have 1/10th the Upside Brooks had when all that drama started. Anything you or anyone else knew or knows about Jake came from AFTER he bolted New Orleans for a backup job in Carolina.

Just curious to know what you think it is that Jake did when the pressure was on. Did he 'know how to take a sack'? His numbers suggested he preferred to thow air balls up for grabs and get them intercepted. I've watched him do it time after time. So have you.

But must we talk about Brooks & Haz to discuss Jake? I don't think so, but it seems I'm in the minority. At any rate, we can discuss Jake any time. It's an easy argument to win if you're on my side of the fence and you believe what the statistics show you.
