Running the numbers on a possible lockout in 2011

From my recent readings, it appears that the NFL Owners and Players are roughly $1 Billion dollars apart on what each thinks the other should have.
Given that are roughly 2,000 active NFL players in any given year, that equates to about $500,000 per player.

The point I'm making is that if you were an owner and would be able to keep an additional $32,500,000 per year, aren't you going to fight a lot harder for that money than a player who is going to give up $500,000?
