what is our biggest need?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Canton, let's just say that D Line is the pick. Could be DT or DE or a hybrid of both. BUT the bottom line is that's the biggest need....

Re: what is our biggest need?

I tossed the coin (DT/DE), it fell on DE. Our biggest need is up front; which includes our linebackers. Our DB's had to provide way too much run support and stayed beat-up all season long. Vilma was the only mainstay we had. The others were either inconsistent or hurt half of the time. We've got to do a better job of stopping/slowing the run and closing the deal when we get a team in 3rd and long. Run stop was fine when Ellis suited up. Even when he didn't make the play, he allowed others to. Young power rusher at DE and some quickness to compliment Vilma at the linebacker position. That would lessen the effect of how we get re-mixed or matched across the back.
