this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think we need to wait and see how the draft plays out. If we could get someone like Jevan Snead in the 4th, I'd go for that and not worry about bringing in someone's throw-aways....

But it doesn't hurt to have someone with previous NFL experience. We have a project in Chase Daniel already. However, if it came down to drafting a QB, McCown, or Ramsey, I'd go with the draft pick.

Re: Mcown or Ramsey?
The problem is that Chase doesn't really fit our offense very well. He might work for one game because of the fact that his style is foreign to what any team would have practiced for but that would only work one game. We need someone that could come in and give us a chance for a couple of games if Drew gets dinged.

The other factor cited in the article is that it would count as our lone FA pickup in light of Fujita leaving. The fact that Bulger was cut does not affect us in that way, very much in the same light as the Brown FA pickup did not affect that. Plus Bulger has a much better track record. It's entirely likely SP and the gang have already contacted him, but $ are probably a major factor. | |

Colt McCoy, does he fall to the last pick in the second round.

Re: Mcown or Ramsey?
No. I actually think Colt McCoy will go near the end of the first round. Which brings up the point that the Saints are in an excellent position to acquire additional picks, and still draft who they want (Hughes, I believe), by trading out of 32, with a team who wants to move up to get McCoy the first day, and is afraid that someone will get him ahead of them on Day 2.
