Thomas has a long injury history.
How can you say TE is not an area of need. While a 1st or 2nd is a bit high I can not see the saints sitting tight for a year or two. My pick in the third or fourth is BYU's Dennis Pitta
Now the fun move would be Pittsburgh tight end/receiver/H-back Dorin Dickerson in the second. FB? SP can line him up everywhere.

One thing is guaranteed with tight ends, and full backs, they are all pretty much injury prone, and that's because of the demands of the positions themselves. I'll bet you can't name too many tight ends specifically, that went more than two seasons, without a pretty hard injury in their somewhere. The point is, that this isn't a priority in the draft. We found Thomas on the back up roster with the Pats. I think with as much as we actually use them, then we can certainly get by another season, without one. We need to beef up our defensive, and offensive lines. I say DT, LB, S, and OT, or Center should all be priorities. But of course that's just me.

What's popular is not always right, and what's right is not always popular.....
