Ayodele ready to compete for Saints' starting NT job
After receiving extended playing time for the first time in his career last season, when he started 13 games, Saints DT Remi Ayodele told PFW he plans on re-earning the starting nose tackle job in 2010. "I'm going (into next season) and trying to win a starting position," Ayodele said. "I'm always going to go into it that way. I'm not going into it like 'Oh, I'm the starter.' No. I'm going to earn my spot.

Having another quality player to rotate with him would be my preference.
Keep em' fresh. We really need to get more pressure on opposing QBs this year. |

I agree..he looked spent out there a lot of times..but he can definetly be part of the rotation..He adds good depth..

Ayodele, I believe, is a backup only. He does add good depth, as many have already mentioned; I wouldn't want to see him as the starter again at that position.

Bill Johnson will improve the kids game. He can be a solid player next to Ellis if he improves his game this offseason as expected.

Re: Ayodele ready to compete for Saints' starting NT job
I haven't seen anything that makes him look like a starter.jmo I earnestly believe we need a DT that is going to be disruptive. I believe that the D line is this teams weakness and needs a top flight mean son of a bi*** to run with Ellis. Someone with the motor that never stops and will bring the heat for 4 quarters and OT if necessary. The word "nasty" comes to mind.
