I think we found our pick...Jason Pierre-Paul

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Wow, I guess I grossly overexaggerated how annoying you are. You're right, you didn't say something negative about ALL 200+ players in the draft, but you gave it your best shot. You get fixated all the time on people though, ...

You get fixated all the time on people though, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I'm just thanking my lucky stars that Aaron Stecker isn't in this draft, because we'd be drafting him in the first round.

Everson Griffen would be a great second round pick for us, I love his athletic ability, but he probably won't be there at #64.

Jason Paul-Pierre is an athletic pass-rushing DE which is always nice to have. The Giants from a few years ago proved you can't have too many of those guys.

I think Gerhart would be a perfect replacement for Mike Bell if we drafted him in a later round.

From what I've heard Price would be a good second-round value, and you're right, DT is one of our needs, and he'd be a good fit.

Carlos Dunlap is a freak, I'd love to have him playing opposite of Will Smith. Whether you like it or not, DE is still a big position of need for us, so that'd be a good pick for us both in terms of value and filling a need. If it wasn't for his little incident at the end of the year, I think he'd be one of the top two DEs.

Rolando McClain is an absolute beast, I would take him in a heartbeat. But how will he ever function without Cody in front of him?!?!?!? Probably the same way he did on 50% of the plays when Cody was taking a breather on the sideline.

Point is, when you zero in on one guy you blind yourself to the positives of other guys. I think the Saints are in a position where they don't need to draft solely on need because none of our needs are so insurmountable that they can't be overcome. Zeroing in on one guy, like Cody, is either going to set you up for disappointment on draft day (which I hope is the case because Cody is going to eat himself out of the league) or it's going to prevent us from understanding the other players available. No need for that, I say we take the best guy.

p.s. - you did say you didn't like Weatherspoon's talking, which is negative
