Re: FO Blew a Great Opportunity. (My Opinion Only)
I truly believe they will draft a DT(NT type) probably next up at #130 (or possibly sooner if a trade goes through before then).
These two players who would be perfect fits for Gregg Williams' schemes on defense with the Saints this year are ranked in the top 20 defensive linemen (including DE's, DT's and LB's) by fftoolbox.com/nfl_draft/2010/top-nfl-prospects-for-2010 and are still on the board as we speak: Cam Thomas, DT, North Carolina - 6'3 - 330 Al Woods, DT, LSU - 6'4 - 317 I would also expect for GW to want to add a speedy OLB through this draft at some point (which is where a trade deal for Brown could come in very handy if they can work out an early-to-mid 4th rounder this year, coupled with a 3rd or possibly even a 2nd rounder next year with some needy team) soon too. These two OLB's are still available and are ranked in the top 20 D-linemen from that same list: Ricky Sapp, LB, Clemson - 6'4 - 240 Thaddeus Gibson, LB, Ohio State - 6'2 - 240 Other speedy and aggressive OLB options include: Norwood, Eric OLB South Carolina Watson, Dekoda OLB Florida State Don't rule out the Saints moving around in the 4th or 5th (through trades) rounds to target a couple of these type of guys in this draft later on today! Maybe the last day of this draft will prove to be the most exciting for us as Saints fans after all... |
