Second, Deadline Set for "Final 8" Rule - Gang Green Nation Third, just trying to provide another perspective which is what you asked for in the first place. Lastly, you have no reference point if the Saints have done anything to improve their run defense to date. They have not played one game to date with the current roster or whom they will enter the first game of the season with on D. Good luck. Out. |
Re: Stop the Run!
I agree with X in his concern for stopping the run. That would keep teams in 3rd and long situations, perfect for the way we play defense. But I still have the scars from the number of 3rd and longs that were converted on us last season. 3rd and 9's, 3rd and 13's, 3rd and 17's: it was ugly sometimes. We were 13-3 and could have easily been 15-1, but were 3-0 when it counted. We didn't do that bad of a job, and we can definitely do better this year. I thought that the heavy in the draft should have fallen 4-2 on the defensive side of the ball, but what do I know? We still have a ton of unsigned players that may give us an opportunity to sure up some of our holes if they are signed away. I kinda trust those guys (FO) at his point to know what they are doing.

Do we have two insomniacs? lololololol
Don't worry, be happy. Saints are WORLD CHAMPIONS. Enjoy the ride to a repeat 2010 season. Ciao........BI |
Re: Stop the Run!
All of the Final 8/July 22nd rules ending rumors come from Jets websites. When the NFL officially posts it, I will believe it. If it is true, who in the hell is going to be available after July 22nd ?.. LOL
I have no reference point on weather they have done anything to improve Saints defense? ROFLMAO. Sure I do... Look at the roster it should be fair to say 95% played last season. Bresus has not taken the field in the forst game of the 2011 season yet either. I suppose on your basis or thought you feel he "could" be ranked 32nd at the end of next season. My point still stands. The rule severely sestricts the New Orleans Saints, as it was intended to. And we need to prepare to stop the run. On opening day we play Minnesota. We better be prepared. My point behind all of this is that I am one area away from comfortably feeling as we can dominate this season, stopping the run is that area. I am sure the FO knows what they are doing, however, I am here on these forums to discuss. |

every other team is getting better.....if we stay stagnant and get complacent then we wont get better and wont have any chance of repeating this year |

Our defense was rated what, 26th last year? That's not good enough for a #1 rated offense. The FO needs to take notice if they want a repeat. I'm not doubting their abilities to get us quality talent, I just want them to stop sitting on their hands and get something done already! OTAs are right around the corner. |
