Re: Falcons want outdoor stadium
Almost every teacher in Georgia took a 4% pay cut this year, and every other public servant: police, EMT, firefighters, also took a hit.
So, there isn't tax money for the important things like education and public safety, but there is $$$ for a stadium that is completely unnecessary. What is the GA dome, 12 years old? ass-backwards fiscal responsibilty |

Re: Falcons want outdoor stadium
How about a retractable roof so they can host everything?

Hey, the Georgia Dome is already a circus tent. They could just remove those bed sheets off the top.

Re: Falcons want outdoor stadium
how about they just use the facilities they have?
I am not attacking you- it just pisses me off that politicians and urban planners do not have the foresight to build stadiums and arenas that are multi-functional. So ATL wants to be considered for a World Cup bid. Great. So that is one event every 20 years. You host the 6 group matches and then maybe 1-2 playoff (knock-out) matches. Is that enough to build a new stadium? Concerts? No. We have Phillips Arena, the dome and several other 5K seating venues. |

Re: Falcons want outdoor stadium
Ya know, most of the domes built after the Super Dome are gone now. I just can't help but think that they got it right and built the Super Dome to last and the others were junk, only designed to last a decade or so. And when the time comes to replace it, I do hope they build something designed to last with maybe a retractable roof. Oh and its gotta be adjacent to the FQ. Theres nothing quite like walking up Poydras to the game with the crowd all in Black and Gold. That can't be lost.

The view is what does it for me. I wish the Saints would play one November game in Tiger Stadium, just one a year. |
