First off, we are an unarguably better team with Sharper. I am not the type to get directly critical about dollar amounts. I wanted... needed Sharper back. I could give a f*** at what cost it took. I dropped in to remind people how silly (and hypocritical) it is to talk chump change about our best defensive player when Benson is just funneling money to Reggie's account. Point being, apparently Benson's spending, so why loose a HOF'er, post one of his best years due to haggling when we see that he's capable of writing big checks.... not to mention, the pure hypocrisy of over-concern with Sharpers dollars with lack of concern for Bush when (at least the slightly more knowledgeable) know that contracts can change year to year regardless. You can't just tell me that Bush's contract is pre-arranged so we can't care / comment.... yet, Sharper is in negotiation so it's fair to talk CHEAP!.... because to me, that's exactly what you're saying. It's not limited to that and you know this.... Just like Grant, sh!t changes. Also, you can't tell me that we know that there hasn't been silent agreements and restructuring behind closed doors with Bush to come back for less.... it'd be in both's best interest and in both's best interest to remain discrete. I agree with a lot of your points in regards to milking high draft contracts and all of that..... I get that, and you know that, and you're a sharp guy.... and know, I understand this.... But, with everyone expressing disgust at Sharpers attempt at financial gain, or "cashing in" (which BTW, EVERY PLAYER DOES these days), meanwhile dismissing any concern with wanting to see Bush "Restructure" for fair dollars based on his production.... was not only ignorant, but football ignorant favoritism.... and in my view star-struck, jaded and not best for the team.... and yes, my arrogant opinion. Arrogant because I can't see it any other way.... and until you can convince me why everyone popping up saying "Sharper's not worth X amount of dollars" and getting personally concerned with what he seeks financially, yet not the least concerned with seeing Bush's contract restructured and you can spare me the "what the FO thinks who just won a Superbowl, vs. what you think... so you must be wrong" cr@p... because 1. you know as well as I that the concern to retain Reggie lies just as much in his marketing and moral investment value as it does his production.... and 2. It was me, all along saying Pierre "Is our Guy" and just make him the man.... this formula is how we had a SB winning season. Look at the stats... look at Reggie's stats... NOTICE: Reggies touches have steadily declined to an all time low up through last year... OUR SB winning season. Yes, less Reggie, more PT = SB winning season. I've BEEN saying this whilst the all knowing and ever crowd pleasing "FO and Sean Payton" have been wasting drives trying to let Reggie "transition to the NFL" forcing him to be the featured back. but in all, my jab at the Sharper dollars debate was fueled by the frustration that set me off at how quick the B&G nation could turn on a player like Sharper!!!!! |
