Re: Superbowl XLVIII Location Poll
I chose none of the above. IMO, in these days of domed stadiums, the Superbowl should be played in a domed or retractable roof stadium. If I'm going to pay 1000's of dollars to attend the Superbowl (which I'm not, but somebody is), I want good weather guaranteed. Last time it was held in Miami (2007, when we should have been there), it rained like hell the whole game. We even had Purple Rain at halftime. Bla.

Re: Superbowl XLVIII Location Poll
Hate to say this, but I told you so. With all of these new state of the art facilities to choose from, it's going to be hard for New Orleans to get as many superbowls as they are used too. When the new 49er stadium opens up I guarantee you it will be out here alot. Also, if that new stadium in L.A. gets built, which right now it looks like its going to happen, then it will also be a big target, due to all of the stars it would attract. Sorry guys, the city might be the perfect spot to host, but with these new stadiums, that can hold way more people, the NFL is going to think of itself first, and the city second.

Re: Superbowl XLVIII Location Poll
I just can't see them playing the 1st week in February in New Jersey when the average tempature is 26 and wind speed is 25 miles per hour. I wouldn't pay $2,000.00 for those tickets.

But it's about more than the enjoyment/comfort of the people in the stands. It's about having the weather not affect the game so much that it dictates the outcome or overly influences how the game is played as well. That is why they've held outdoor superbowls in warm weather spots. They don't want to take away a team's great passing game or contribute to another's great D by having a frozen mess on the field. If we had played the Colts outdoors in nasty weather in New York, San Fran, Philly etc. I bet it would have been an ugly came to watch since both teams are heavy on the passing offense. it would have suffered in ratings too if it was a sloppy mess of a game. The NFL can't control that for the playoffs, but they can for the SB. I doubt it will happen. JMO |

Re: Superbowl XLVIII Location Poll
You guys need to remember, it's all about revenue. And in cities like San Fran, Los Angeles, and New York, your not only talking about major tv markets, you are also talking about 3 of the top 5 most expensive places to live in this country. More seats to sell, in larger stadiums, and more people that can afford the high price tags on the merchandise.
