Heat 'bears' down on New Orleans Saints during Sunday's practice
Newly acquired New Orleans Saints defensive end Alex Brown thought he'd be able to adapt quickly to the Southern heat since he's from Florida. But the former Chicago Bear admitted that his first two weeks of practices have been even steamier than expected.
Last week during OTAs (organized team activities), Brown suggested that people were exaggerating when they kept telling him it would get even hotter as the summer wore on. One week later, he already admitted they were right. "This is ridiculous," Brown said after the Saints' final minicamp practice Sunday morning, which was the most stifling to date this offseason - an on-field temperature on 90.5 degrees and a heat index of 112. Mercifully, the practice lasted only about 90 minutes. |
