Saints have agreed to terms on 5-year deal with 1st round pick CB Patrick Robinson. He won't miss a practice.
The New Orleans Saints agreed to a five-year contract with first-round draft choice Patrick Robinson late Thursday night. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to his agent, Kevin Conner, Robinson is expected to land in New Orleans around 8 a.m. Friday morning, which means he'll probably miss the start of the Saints' first training camp practice at 8:50. But once he formally signs the deal, Robinson might make it onto the field for a cameo appearance. Robinson isn't expected to battle for a starting job as a rookie, with veterans Tracy Porter and Jabari Greer firmly entrenched on the corners. But he will compete for roles in nickel and dime packages with cornerback Randall Gay and safeties Malcolm Jenkins and Usama Young, among others. Saints agree to five-year deal with first-round pick Robinson
The New Orleans Saints reached terms on a five-year contract with first-round draft pick Patrick Robinson, a source with knowledge of the deal said Thursday.
Robinson was the last selection (32nd overall) of the first round and will be signed in time to participate in drills when the defending Super Bowl champions open training camp Friday. The Saints added Robinson, a cornerback from Florida State, for depth and to play in certain packages. The team boasts one of the NFL's top cornerback tandems in Jabari Greer and upstart Tracy Porter, leaving no room for Robinson to crack the starting lineup in the near future. However, Greer and Porter sustained injuries last season, and the drop-off in production was noticeable. Last season's top pick, cornerback Malcolm Jenkins (14th overall) was moved to safety after Robinson's acquisition. There were questions about Jenkins' ability to play cornerback in the NFL coming out of Ohio State, and the Saints wasted little time moving him to safety after drafting Robinson. Great, let's get him on the field. The more reps, the better.

Well, one of my predictions about camp came true...all the rooks are signed by the start of it. This is excellent. Now every single player on the team is under contract.

Re: Patrick Robinson & Saints Agree to Deal
I think this concludes all of the signing mess, looks like everybody will report to camp on time with no hold outs while most other teams are struggling to make the final penny stretch.
