Putting things in perspective ...

Hi, friends! I have admittedly been pretty scarce around here recently, as well as scarce around the off-season in general. I am sorry I had not visited much before now, but things have been involving a bit of distraction around here.

The last few months I have been dealing with a major change in my career coupled with other issues involving each of my sons and their schools and such. Then, four weeks ago following a routine screening I was informed that one of the two polyps they found on my colon was cancerous. The next day my wife's close aunt passed. Given the early stage of the cancer and the fact that they felt that it may have been isolated to the polyp I put of the surgery until this Monday, the 26th, my mother's birthday. This gave me time to handle all the details of everything going on.

The surgery involved removing eight inches of the lower colon (Sigmoid region) in a laparoscopic procedure. All went well with the surgery and two days later I convinced the doctor that there was nothing that they could do in the hospital that we couldn't do at home. He said I was at a point of recovery that was two days ahead of the earliest expected recovery schedule and agreed to let me go. That was Wednesday.

On Thursday I received a call from the doc's PA and she told me that the pathology report had come in and that the lymph nodes and other items removed and tested came back negative. I am cancer free at this point and I guess can be called a cancer survivor.

I want all of you to do this for me ... please go get screened. Get your colonoscopy. Ask your doctor about it. It's not that big a deal and can save your life. It did mine. I hope that I went through this for a reason and that this reason is to make others aware.

I am here if anyone has any questions at all. PM me and I'll even call you you if wish.

Think about the other around you. This is very curable if caught early, but very deadly if caught late.

Thanks for reading this and I am looking forward to being back around much more now.

The Two Dat season is growing near, my wife just received her new Vilma jersey in the mail yesterday (replacing her Fujita version) and I got to visit the Lombardi, ring and Saintsations before my surgery when they were here in Shreveport. All is good now.

All I can add is ...

Who Dat!!

Welcome back AG. Sound like it has been tough. Hopefully everything is back on the upswing. Just to let you know, a prayer has been said for you and your family.

Love the pictures, they are much better than mine. I only got to spend about 20 minutes at the tour. I was out of town and got back just before they closed. But it was a great 20 munites. I even got to see the ring I'm going to win. LOL OK, I see everything in your pictures but the star of the show. Where is the TROPHY?

Right here!

The line to get close up was a mile long and I had limited time. This was as close as I could get. Nice tush on the one in the black dress. Oh, and as a bonus picture ... Beer Man!

Believe me, strato, I won't be a stranger.

The weird part is that I have heard so many people say I just want the Saints to win the Super Bowl before I die. That got me thinking when I first got the news. The hell with that! I want the Saints to win more than the Cowpatties before I die!

Six Dat!!!
