Coach Sean Payton made sure to keep his team hydrated by taking plenty of water breaks during this little over two hour practice. It was the only one of the day since there wasn't a morning session.

Plenty of observations to be made from today's practice session so let's get to it. The four players still on the Active PUP list continued to sit out: Marques Colston, Darren Sharper, Robert Meachem, and Clint Ingram. Colston was seen catching some passes after practice though.

It appeared as if Heath Evans and DeMario Pressley were both back in a limited capacity. Jeremy Shockey was dressed but the team rested him with some knee soreness, but Payton said he was fine. No other injuries to report on.
  • Lance Moore, Reggie Bush, and Tracy Porter got a lot of work on catching punts this afternoon.
  • Speaking of Moore, he is continuing to have an excellent camp. He is literally catching everything that comes his way during drills and showing great bursts of speed and agility. He's taking full advantage of running with the first team while Colston and Meachem sit. Moore only dropped one pass all day, but that was due to it being stripped by Usama Young right as he caught it.
  • Undrafted rookie running back Chris Ivory is showing flashes of brilliance early on in camp, but he did fumble the ball once today during 11-on-11 drills. Ivory also dropped an easily catchable pass in the flat, but his positives are far outweighing the negatives.
  • Patrick Ramsey continues to struggle as day three of camp ends. Most of his passes are low and virtually uncatchable for receivers and tight ends. He was back in the number two spot in the QB rotation today, but failed to impress. Pierson Prioleau dove after one of Ramsey's low passes and intercepted it right off the top of the turf during drills.
  • Cornerback Danny Gorrer showed great eyes for the ball as he broke up passes on two consecutive plays. The first was on a high pass from Chase Daniel that Gorrer almost picked off. Sean Canfield came in next and threw a great ball to Larry Beavers, but Gorrer got his hands in there to strip it out and to the ground before completion.
  • Garrett Hartley was practicing field goals again and hit a beauty right down the middle from 48-yards out.
  • Play of the Day: During 11-on-11 drills, Chip Vaughn came up big as a Sean Canfield pass bounced off the shoulder pads of a lineman and Vaughn made a diving interception to snag it out of mid-air.
  • Rob Harper was working on punt returns some, but also got in work at wide receiver. He made an impressive leaping grab off of a pass from Drew Brees, bobbled it, and still managed to hold onto it as he fell to the ground.
  • High intensity all around from the defense though as you can tell these guys are really ready to lay in some big hits.
