My Postgame Notes

Just thought i'd post some notes on what i have seen out of certain individuals during the game vs the texans.

- Other than that bonehead interception thrown into coverage, Chase Daniel played great, Lead the offense down the field and looked very confident.

- As the announcers said, Chris Ivory is drawing comparisons to Deuce, due to the physical nature of his runs, He did a good job hitting the hole and carrying defenders. Also impressed with his ball security.

- Reggie seemed determined to run inside and bowl over people, especially on his TD run

- Drew is a beast as normal, His numbers didn't show how great his athletiscm is, especially on that throw to colston near the goal line whilst he was tripping over.

- Adrian Arrington wants to be a starter, he made some great grabs tonight. His TD was a good run after the catch, Nice job A.A.

- KICKOFF AND PUNT COVERAGE NEED SERIOUS WORK!!!!

- We didn't cover the middle of the field well when the texans were running their bootleg plays.

All in All i was pleased to see us hit a good tempo, Coach Payton obviously wanted to see what Chase could do. Aside from a couple of mental errors, i liked his answer. We are looking good!!!

Your bonehead creator picked a fine chapter to omit from your memory bank....let me ask you, does a machine like yourself ever experience fear? - Vegeta, DBZ

We looked pretty darn good. I know it was just the Texans but we really seemed to take the fight to them. I keep wanting to strangle Hargrove though. He has GOT to quit spearing players on the ground. He endangered our Super Bowl win like that and he cost us a 3 and out tonight which led to a touchdown. I think that's why they made him play the entire game.

oh...and look for us to keep Arrington on the field a lot for the next two weeks so we might be able to trade him for someone (like a linebacker maybe). He's a great athlete but he always has to catch the ball against his body. I doubt our receivers coach is pleased with him.

Plus he can't play special teams, so trade bait is most likely his role.

Strief did a great job as usual. He gets the job done in pass protection and is a mauler in the run game. The Saints are going to have to cut some good players. The two draft picks, Woods and Canfield, are gone. Robinson would be on the bubble if he wasn't a first round pick.

Good assessment D. It's only preseason but it looks like some of our guys are chomping at the bit. The one thing more important to me than anything else this year is to beat Favre again and send his old arse into retirement. Helmet to the side, dentures in your grill, ankle on the ground, looking like a fool with your ankle on the ground.

On the Ivory comments: Let's slow our roll just a bit with the Deuce comparisons. Deuce was THE man among lesser mortals on the field. I like how Ivory runs, but it isn't fair to him to make that comparison...not yet. Let's see him with the 1s in a game that matters before we start comparing him to the best RB to ever play in Black and Gold.

I agree. But he looked more like Ironhead Hayward to me. Just my 2 cents worth.

Good observations, I agree.

It's going to to be tough to decide what to do with Arrington, Daniel, and Ivory.
