Help! Need N.O. expert advice on travel ...
Hi everyone ... I'm going to the game on 21 Nov against the SeaChickens ... It's a 3:05pm start time, so I figure about 3 hours for the game ... Here's my question:
If the game is over at 6 pm and I leave from there direct to the Airport --- what time do you reasonably think I can get there? I'm not booking my flight until I get the experts advice ... I may have to spend another night, but would prefer not too for work reasons ... Can you help? Thanks in advance! |

The airport isn't that far from the game but considering the roads and you're walking out of a Saints game, I'd say 45 minutes if you are lucky.

You might be well advised to spend the night, party and celebrate and leave first thing in the morning.

If you leave at the end of the game and park in the dome, you'd need AT LEAST 1.5 hours. If someone picks you up outside the dome, you could make the airport in about an hour once you got in the car. This assumes you have a very good route planned. You'd still have airport security. I'd say if you had Smashmouth or myself driving for you, you'd stand a 70/30 chance of making a 8pm flight. Unless you can get a 9pm flight... 8pm would be way too risky unless you left after the 3rd quarter. Spend the night. |

If I were 30 years stupider, I could've got you there in 30 minutes...just ask my former boss who I got to the Memphis airport by driving on the shoulder and running forward and stopping the plane just as the agent was shutting the door...but not today.
...and Mike, I bet you could. Get me a ticket and I'll make a cameo appearance... |
