Do we get any compensation for this, and exactly how does the whole process work?

From espn.com:

Eric (New Germany): Mort, when a team has a player signed off of their practice squad by another team, do they receive any type of compensation?
Chris Mortensen: No, they do not. The signing team must keep that player for at least three weeks, though.

It doesn\'t happen too often because you have to open a roster spot, and keep that player for 3 weeks.
Most players on a practice squad are developmental types and are no better than most teams 53 man roster.
A practice squad player from another team has to learn a new system.

It usually only happens when a team loses more than 1 player at the same position and need emergency depth. Or when a team places somebody on IR for the season and there\'s a particular player they\'ve had their eyes on for a while and we feel its worth a 3 week roster spot.

Whether we agree or disagree; its all for Him.
