Sharper/Ingram
Does anyone know how they're coming along? I know they will be out for six games but have they started practice yet and started to get back into football shape? We could def use these guys down the stretch esp Ingram bc Shanle is just not playing good football and think he would be a backup on alot of NFL teams. Let me know if anyone knows the status of this.

Sharper, apparently is ready to go and will definitely be ready for week 7. There was an article about it both on nfl.com and on profootballtalk.com

I don't know. I think Shanle is decent, but we definately miss Fuji. On a lighter note....guess we all know what we will be drafting...LB!!!

Yes indeed, LB has to be listed as a top priority in the draft/offseason. The Saints is starting a guy who was like a 3rd option from last year, and it shows on the field. Not at all saying Dunbar is the biggest issue, but there are plenty issues with the entire front 7. I am sure when Ingram is ready there will be some shuffling around. Getting Sharper back is going to be a big plus, this may sound a little crazy but maybe pairing Sharper and Jenkins on passing downs might be a better option than leaving Harper on the field.

I was thinking something similar; like maybe roll to a 4-2-5 look on passing downs. Sharper, Jenkins, and Harper would be on the field at the same time. Then you would have Vilma and Gallette in the LB spots. Gives you enough speed, very unorthodox blitzing opportunities...

I agree Danno. I really thought we would have gone far LB'ers and DT's in the draft and free agency. We can't stop the run and play action pass is killing us, because we can't put enough pressure on the QB.

On who we cut IF Ingram can go, my guess is Waters. We are filling for him on ST now, and he isn't going to start/play anyway, so he is as good as gone. |
