Crowd Noise
Can anyone who was at the game tell me if there was a noticable difference in crowd noise yesterday? Listening on TV my buddy and I kept saying how quiet it seemed, I kept saying it must be something they were doing with the broadcast or were the fans not as into it as usual?

I noticed that too subguy. Comparing it to the Bears game last night, it was an incredible difference. Even late in the Saints game when you could hear the crowd making noise, it just didn't seem as loud as it should have considering the situation of it being the final needed shut-down Carolina drive of the game and all. I think they must be filtering out the Dome noise for the TV broadcasts these days, for sure.

They probably used it all up last week against ATL and what little enthusiasm they had left got stymied by the meager performance during the first three quarters.

"I'm here to tell you.....the biggest reason the Saints won today was the crowd. It was LOUD on the Panthers last drive."

There is. It's called "Super Bowl Hangover". Our fans are simply emotionally exhausted after last year. I think you can add to that the really dull schedule we have (who wants to watch us play the browns or seahawks or rams??) and you end up with a fanbase that just isn't as excited. We'll get back into form next year when we've had a season to rest up and we get the Colts and texans at home.

As a season ticket holder I was at both atl and car. I think the crowd for yesterday's game was much louder than Atl the week before.

I was there and the crowd was into it the entire game, we never stopped cheering. It was whisper quiet when we had the ball, until we snapped it, and then loud as all get out when the kitties had it. And with each turn of the down meter it got progressively louder. And on that last drive it was insanely loud, off the hook loud and caused confusion for them .
