But the FO must know what he's doing.

I figure..
1. Its probably just for 1 or 2 weeks
2. He may be familiar with the system we run
3. He may be the healthiest RB out there that we could sign based on 1 and 2.
It's absolutely a short term fix. Hopefully PT will be back this week and Bush the following week.

Jones should know Paytons system....right?
then why even make this move, it's really starting to feel like 2007 all over again

Except in 2007 we could move the ball offensively, it was the D that let us down. Seems to me like the roles have been reversed nowadays though lol

I like the move. Betts is up and down and Ivory is a rookie. Jones had a few good years in Dallas and is probably better than both backs we have starting now.

I agree that this doesn't sound like a good sign for Bush and Thomas coming back soon though.

Keep in mind that Jones played 2 years under Payton in Dallas.

Oh yes indeed. The RB position is a complete mess. Remember, 2 hurt, 2 plus a FB on IR, active one's not really getting it done, yes, a real mess! Teams these days are lining up in deep cover 2 and daring the Saints to rush the ball, knowing they will get an opportunity to grab a fumble or something.
