Anyway...I'm not a Hartley fan, either, and I will go on to say that I hope that we eventually can find someone consitent. However, whoever they may find and as good as his credentials may be...I guarantee you that he will eventually miss...and if he is around long enough, he will miss an important one. JMO |

The thing that frustrates me is that hartley has said all this stuff about he will make sure he's on top of his game from now on, then has the nerve to blame chase daniel on the miss cuz of the hold. |

I used to live in Houston and was stuck watching the Texans on Sundays. And Kris Brown was pretty automatic inside of 45 yards.....he is 77% for his career which is pretty good. So why are we wasting our time with Hartley? Its about 5-10 kickers sitting at home that are clearly better than Hartley right now.

I think Hartley will be fine. He needs to kick field goals like he kicked extra points yesterday. Right down the middle. The best thing Payton and Brees can do now and always is make sure the game doesn't come down to the kicker. Any kicker. At any time. LOL.

Hey, not to hi-jack this thread, but WTH was Hartley doing kicking off instead of Morestead? I mean, Morestead punted (once), so I know he's not injured, or is he? Isn't kickoff usually Morestead's responsibility?

Yeah I found that odd as well. Maybe Morestead still has a bit of that original injury. Hartley did good on the kickoffs though.

Hartley is young. Maybe he could have been more diplomatic with Chase but that comes with experience. I firmly believe it has more to do with an inexperienced holder than Hartley at this point.

Yer exactly, the hold has looked fine everytime, chase Daniel is fine. Hartley needs to get his act together rather than looking for someone to blame when he misses, which is pretty much all the time now.

We need to coach better, call a run play up the middle of the field on the 3rd down if we might have to kick on 4th. Hartley clearly has a problem with the left and right hashes. |
