Brees on the Bench
I like to ask the controversial questions. Ill ask another.
Should Brees have been benched against the Browns. Before you go hiring a hit man to find me..... I am not saying he should have been benched for his play this season, or in the Browns game. I am saying he should have never taken a snap in the Browns game. I do not know Brees personally, all I know is what I read and hear like most of us. I know from what I have read and heard him say he takes a lot of pride in being a good father. That being said, I expect he has had about 2-3 hours sleep a night since the birth of his son. As any father would have had in the last 4-5 days. If he were well rested yesterday I would have had to question his participation in his new born child for the last 4 days. He is also a Champion and not one to say no. Payton should have benched him so he could take a 4 hour nap and get back to his wife and new born. Let Chase Daniel handle the Browns. I am a dedicated and loyal Saints fan to the core. However that child comes first as it should, and i suspect the lack of rest is why Drew preformed so badly. Bad judgment, under thrown passes, look of frustration, all the tell tale signs of tired. |
