putting bush to return the punt was not the best call i've seen payton make this year. not even to make him fair catch it. no, no, no. bad call. i know its the fall off the horse get right back on thing but not 8 games later coach.

I'm not saying I agree with that thinking, but it may have played into it.
I watched that play several times. He could have gotten some yards from what I saw. The fumble, he was trying to make up for it when it wasn't needed. How many times has he just gone down or got next to nothing on a return. If anything, I hope they all learned a lesson from Roy to do what is needed and put your ego aside.

I agree, it was indeed a bad call by Sean Payton, could have been very costly..
Had it been about 5 mins left in the game with us having a 20 pt lead i would have given it a go but a whole half? Sean Payton got cute again.

It was a great defensive play on the fumble. The defender swatted dead on the ball from behind, it wasn't like a muffed punt. Now the dropped pass is a different story. 9 out of 10 times that's a TD. That was a sign of rust in my opinion. Bush not up to game speed just yet. He'll be fine after next week.

Sorry I don't buy into being rusty.

He is a professional. It isn't like he was sitting at home eating Bon Bon's on his sofa the whole time.

He is exactly who he has been since he has been here in NO. Sure he can make something special happen but every time you give him the ball you have to hold your breathe.

After the game Payton said he put Bush in to return punts because Moore told him he was having trouble with the lights. Bush didnt have any rust that was the same play he made before he got hurt, fumbled a punt.

I looked up a cool stat. Reggie has less rushing yards than the quarterback for the Eagles. No big deal of course Vick has more yards rushing than Bush but I was surprised to see that Kolb has more yards too.

Reggie is no longer a secret weapon but may an Albatross. He needs to be running the ball out of the backfield until he gets the hang of this football thing again. I tweeted Reggie the other day and told him that MJ saved his lunch and he should be thankful cuz the media would've ripped him apart if the Saints lost.
