Yea I like them just as you have them aswell. But I am biased on the subject so I might be giving Ricky the nod over Gradishar because I watched him play a lot more, and come on he was a Saint.
I never was much of a Bronco Fan and did\'nt watch them as much. I remember Gradishar was an ironman stud and was considered one of the best LB in the game back in the orange Crush days. I went back and looked and his numbers are pretty impressive. Carson was a monster who smacked the hell out of people, but he was so overshawdowed by LT and having Banks back there with him made him better for sure. I\'m sure some would make the same argument about Ricky, but like I said I\'m biased. |

Consider this- Gradishar and Carson both survived the HoF cut today, Jackson did not. Think there is a bias? The Cowboys have been claiming that there is one against them for years, and rightfully so. I don\'t expect the Saints to have very many HoF members, but Jackson is the exception.

I was wondering what the point of this was, turned out to be a pretty good one. With a losing tradition as embeded as the Saints it may be hard for our players to get the respect they deserve. I have to believe canton will one day come calling on the Jackson house. It would be a travesty if they didn\'t.

Your kidding right? Noone loves Ricky as much as me, hell I have a jersey of his, but come on!
Dick Butkus Mike Singletary Lawrence Taylor are certainly better lbs than Ricky. Ricky was good, no question. But he doesn\'t belong with these guys. |

Sure did miss you, George, glad to see your back.
Oh, and last time I checked, those weren\'t the only linebackers in the HoF- if it were, then your argument might hold water because it would be an extremely elitist group. However, you have the following: Bobby Bell (also DE) 1963-1974 Nick Buoniconti 1962-1974, 1976 Dick Butkus 1965-1973 George Connor (also DT, OT) 1948-1955 Bill George 1952-1966 Jack Ham 1971-1982 Ted Hendricks 1969-1983 Sam Huff 1956-1967, 1969 Jack Lambert 1974-1984 Willie Lanier 1967-1977 Ray Nitschke 1958-1972 Joe Schmidt 1953-1965 Mike Singletary 1981-1992 Lawrence Taylor 1981-1993 Dave Wilcox 1964-1974 [Edited on 14/11/2003 by BlackandBlue] |

Im a huge Mike Singletary fan, but his stats are not even close to Rickey Jackson\'s. Mike Singletary had only 19 sacks in his entire career, Jackson had 128. Rickey Jackson is also 2nd on the all time fumble recovery list with a career total of 28 recoveries. Singletary was a great player, but he benefited from playing with a team with a legacy. Rickey Jackson definitely belongs in the hall of fame, its a damn shame that he isnt there already.
