Here's how I see the NFC playoff picture shaping up.

Division winners:
CAR 12-4
STL 12-4
PHI 11-5
MIN or GB 10-6

Wild card:
DAL 10-6 (I'm expecting them to lose to NE tonight)
GB or MIN 10-6
Saints ? 10-6
SEA 9-7

That's based on looking at each team's remianing schedule. The Saints are going to just about have to run the table to squeak in. If they can make the playoffs, I don't see why they can't win a couple of post-season games. Why? Because the only way they will make the playoffs is if they get on a roll of playing consistently well.

Regarding the win over Atlanta, I'm not surprised this one was close. It's hard to get up for a team when you blew them out just a few weeks ago. Hopefully the Saints will be up for all the rest of their games, knowing they can't afford to lose any of them.

I left out the Giants because I think it\'s going to take 10-6 to make the playoffs and they are 4-6 right now. I only included Seattle on the lsit because they are in first place right now. I think there are several possible 9-7 teams, but none of them will make the playoffs.

Minnesota is 0-4 in their last 4. They\'re 6-4 now with another game against Green Bay who already beat them in Minnesota. That\'s a loss for them in Lambeau. So you think they\'re going to go 4-1 in their other 5? NO WAY. They\'re the team we\'ll have to beat out.

I just want to make the playoffs. There is no one I\'m scared of right now. The Rams are playing so-so football. If they bring their A game they can destroy anyone. However, they got blown out by SF and almost lost to the Bears today.

We know that we can beat Carolina. Minnesota is crashing and burning. Dallas can\'t score 20 points. Seattle is not beating great teams and looks shaky to me. We outman Philly totally - although they have something about them where they just find a way to win. The scariest team in the NFC to me right now is probably GB. We couldn\'t stop Ahman and if Favre plays on they could absolutely destroy us. I\'m just thinking that the Saints need to find a way to make it to the playoffs. If they do, they can make a real run. Give me Carolina in round 1. I think the Saints have a thing or two to tell them.

No. The Vikings won at Green Bay (first game of the season, I remember because Randy Moss is on my fantasy team). As I said in another thread, NFC North doesn\'t matter.
Seattle 9-7? They looked pretty good when we played them and haven\'t lost a home game yet. The losses against Cincinatti and Washington were close games (okay, some of their wins as well). Cleveland and Arizona at home are pretty much gimmes, the Browns offensive explosion will not carry over. Then they play two teams they have already beaten this year and the struggling Vikings. Next week they travel to Baltimore to take on a team that\'s nosediving as well. Seattle 9-7? I don\'t see it.
In terms of tie-breakers it might even be favorable for us if Seattle goes 11-5.

Where is all this optimism coming from? Gator speculating on our opponent in ROUND 2 of the playoffs? What are you all drinking? What the hell is going on?

Here\'s Seattle\'s schedule:
@Baltimore (3-1 at home, only loss was to KC)
Cleveland
@Minnesota
@St. Louis (5-0 at home)
Arizona
@San Francisco (4-1 at home)

You\'re right, they are undefeated at home. However, they only have 2 home games left. Their remaining road games are against teams who play well on their own turf. Also, the Seahawks are 1-3 so far on the road, having beaten only the mighty Cardinals. That\'s why I\'m picking them to win only two more games (both remaining home games) and lose the rest. Hopefully, Baltimore\'s offense will get just enough going to let their defense beat the Seahawks this weekend.

As far as them looking good when we played them: well, the Saints can make some pretty bad teams look pretty good sometimes.
