The Payton must be the dumbest coach of all time to not put Reggie in every down. 10 yards more per play with Reggie in the line-up huh? I take back everything I ever said about Reggie. Thats hall-of-fame stuff there, in fact its his own wing in the hall-of-fame. Gale Sayers and Jim Brown combined couldn't do that. Thats awesome. |
I Cant wait to see him and Ivory togeather. They are going to run people over. PERIOD!! WHO DAT!

here, this is another source, different from my original one:
But here is the real STATS that you don't see. The Saints amassed 6500 yards of offense in the regular season last year. The average yards per play on offense was 6.1 yards per play. The Saints averaged 14.6 yards per play when Bush was ON the field as compared to 4.9 yards per play when he was on the sideline. On short yardage plays is Reggie on the field? He's typically on the field for pass plays. If he truly adds 10 yards per play, he should be a hall of famer and he deserves every dime of his 12 million dollar salary. I am curious though, why is Payton reducing his snaps? I'm sure if Payton knew he added 10 yards per play just by being in the line-up he'd put Bush in on every play. I think the stat may be a tad misleading, especially since we score more points when Reggie is out versus when Reggie is in. How can that be explained? Do you guys really think he adds 10 yards per play? BTW: Thats some poster comment stating that stat. I'd really like to something a bit more definitive than that. |

15 yards per play if 50% more than most teams average on pass plays. he's every defense's kryptonite. |
