Seattle coach Pete Carroll isn't ready to name a starting QB against the New Orleans Saints

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; If Hasselbeck is healthy, and I think he is going to be (it looked like he probably could have gone Sunday night), I can't imagine Pete Carroll starting an inexperienced Charlie Whitehurst (nothing against him personally) in a playoff game. ...

If I was a Saints fan I would expect to see #8 under center for the Seahawks come Saturday.

Hasselbeck didn't play last week against the St. Louis Rams in the 16-6 win that propelled the Seahawks to the playoffs because he had suffered a hip injury in a Week 16 game against Tampa Bay after scoring a touchdown in the first quarter.

So, when the Saints meet Seattle at Qwest Field in the opening round of the NFC playoffs, the question is, will Hasselbeck be back?

"We've got to figure it out and make sure everybody's OK," said Seahawks Coach Pete Carroll. "We'll find out where we are in the next day or so and determine that. Charlie (Whitehurst) got banged around a little bit himself in his failure to slide effectively. He took a couple shots, so we'll see how our guys are. Right now it looks like we'll split reps with those guys at practice tomorrow and we'll just find out where we are and we'll figure it out as we go through the week."

Carroll said Hasselbeck would definitely practice on Tuesday.
