LSU Tigers: Too Good To Ignore
The big argument in college football centers on who most deserves to play Oklahoma for the national title: Ohio State or Southern Cal.
And then there's the other one-loss team, LSU, conveniently ignored in that raging debate. The dominant storylines in the Southeastern Conference at present are Eli Manning's quest to finally put Mississippi over the top in the West and the three-way controversy in the East between Tennessee, Florida and Georgia. And then there's LSU, holding the highest ranking of any SEC team but not necessarily the highest visibility. LSU Tigers: Too Good To Ignore
I hear they\'re being ignored essentially because of the weak \"strength of schedule\" number. Frankly I think LSU Oklahoma would be an awesome game for the National Championship, but I haven\'t drank enough Tang to actually think it\'ll happen. I think the folks at the BCS are drinkin\' too much 08er-aid personally. Something sure has \'em thinkin\' a bit twisted.

They\'ll beat Ole Miss and move up, but the SEC championship isn\'t figured into BCS standings. At least I\'m pretty sure it\'s not.
Anyway, the BCS and other polls jock Ohio State too much as it is. I\'ve watched them numerous times this season (due to the fact that the networks aire all their games), and they pull out squeakers at the last minute every time. LSU would wipe the floor with both them and USC, but it\'d be a shootout with the Sooners. |

The problem that USC has (and with good reason) is that The New York Times dropped them from #2 to #5, which propelled Ohio State over them in the BCS, despite the fact that they beat Arizona this past weekend 45-0. Go look at the NYT rankings, they are all kinds of F\'d up- they have LSU ranked 11. 11??? F you, NYT. |

LSU Tigers: Too Good To Ignore
Here is a good article containing what LSU needs to happen to move above USC in the polls.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/s...=/bcsroad/1123 I\'d also like to mention that USC has only beaten two teams that were ranked (Auburn and Washington State), while LSU has beaten three that I can think (Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia) and still has one more ranked team to play, Arkansas, two if they make it to the SEC championship game. The last thing I\'d like to mention is that LSU lost to the 12th ranked Gators, while USC lost to unranked Cal. I know the Gators were unranked when they played them, but the Gators current ranking shows how good a team they are. I hope the link works, and GEAUX TIGERS!!! |

Arkansas isn\'t ranked, but I wouldn\'t be surprised to bite the Tigers in the butt now that Ohio State is out of the picture.
