For All Those People Who Say That Benson is a Cheapskate
Here's proof of the contrary:
New Orleans is a good example, with a league-high payroll of $85.88 million, and overall payouts of $47.36 million (second in the league) in signing bonuses. The Saints had to pay a premium signing bonus for first-round defensive tackle Johnathan Sullivan, the sixth overall player chosen in the draft. There were pricey "option" bonuses due for veterans such as quarterback Aaron Brooks, defensive end Charles Grant and wide receive Donte' Stallworth. And the Saints were active in the free agent and trade market as well.
