Brooks sucks...and that's the bottom line.
You really have to take a lot of the things said on this board with a grain of salt. This is a board full of opinions and obviously all of \'em can\'t be right. Altough some members have tried to impress upon me than no one can be wrong. I don\'t know what kind of sense that makes but oh well......... Here\'s my opinion of the game.
Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes. Turnovers, penalties, missed tackles, etc, etc,... I\'m not gonna comment on what was said about Brooks, because it is not worth commenting on. The offense moved the ball pretty well, but mistakes killed drives. The defense put up a very poor effort. Special teams put up a poor effort. As much of a Haslett supporter as I am, I would not be honest if I said that most of the blame does not fall on Haslett\'s shoulders. He can\'t make the plays for the players, but they are very undisplined. That falls on the head coach. It\'s eleven weeks into the season and for whatever reason Haslett has not instilled disipline into thses players. So you guys are giving up on the playoffs AGAIN?? Hmmmm....Ok!!! Thought you would have learned by now, but I guess not. |

I have no doubt that all of you guys are Saints fans. None what so ever. This Saints team is not winning like any of us would like. I could call some of the members out on some of the posts they made, but then I\'d be singled out as a trouble makers. I\'ve almost become scared to disagree with anyone on here because of that. If you guys want to bleieve that it\'s Brooks fault or whoever\'s fault then continue to believe that. I guess the secret to happiness on this board is to find an opinion to agree with and just go with that....

HI guys, as I have said a million times Brooks has no leadership skills, and that can\'t be taught. He does not have the abiilty to make the correct decision in a snap. I am not blaming him solely for any loss, I am stating that these are his weaknesses. They cannot be fixed. It is time to move on.

I believe they still have a legit shot at making the playoffs. It\'s gonna be tough but I will continue to believe they will. There are members here that wrote this team off a long time ago and you are one of \'em. Is there anything wrong with that? You\'ll have to answer that for yourself. But I just ain\'t one of those fans who is going to come in here and post how bad the Saints suck and how there is no way this team is gonna make the playoffs, only to come back on here and say I will jump back on the bandwagon when they beat this team and that team. But, everyone has their own ways. In the end we are all still fans............

I\'m not blaming anyone. I just feel let down. Every year they say we are going to have a good team and for one reason or another we flop. I\'ve been a Saints fan for a long time and lived through good and bad but eventually something has to give. There are some teams that are worse but at least everyone knew they would be worse. I guess instead of complaining I\'ll just keep hoping and maybe some day....

Billy, I state my opinion feeling I am 100% correct. Why would I state an opinion that I believe to be 30% correct? Subguy takes a double shot of tang.

BillyC said the following:
\"That\'s cool. Brooks has disappointed me in some areas. He has also improved in some areas this year. You could be right, but I don\'t think so...............\" You must have known somebody would ask so here goes: In what areas has he improved? I don\'t bash Brooks because it\'s fun. I bash him because I believe (100%, not 75, 50 or 30%) that a QB with better leadership and situational awareness skills would make a dramatic difference in this teams\' fortunes. Brooks is what he is. Nothing more and making excuses for his lack of basic football expertise is commendable but misguided. It would appear that you and Jim Haslett have much in common. The difference is Brooks\' inability to get the job done will probably not cost you your job. The same can\'t be said for Haslett... |

Brooks has improved in completion percentatge. It\'s at 60% and would be much higher if not for all the dropped passes. He also is making better decisions and not throwing into traffic as much. I\'m not here to educucate folks in the QB department, but it is very rare that a QB doesn\'t turn the ball over in a game or doesn\'t make mistakes. Brooks is not in the ideal situation a QB wants to be in. Like LummOx said in another post, Brooks has to play damn near perfect for this team to win.
Blake you are entitled to think what you want about Brooks and I\'m sure you will, but I think you would be better served to look at this whole team and put Brooks play in context.. |
