this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; You can't hold an Assistant Coach back from a head job and if it happens that would be good for GW (no not George Washington). But seriously puts The Saints behind the eight ball to search for a quality replacement ...

I said this in one of the Denver speculation threads -- the wild card about Gregg Williams as a head coach, is that he will almost certainly want to take his son Blake with him, and I'd assume he probably will want to give him a really good position -- something better than what he has now as an assistant with the Saints, a 'promotion' such as maybe a real coordinator position, etc. So not only does the Head Coach have to be a better position for Gregg, it almost certainly has to involve a better situation for Blake Williams as well. And nothing against his son, but the guy is really young and probably not quite ready for that yet. So if you are a team that is looking at Gregg Williams to be your coach, that is a bit of a gamble right there. It makes him less attractive. I think he stays for a couple more years, at least, then moves on into exactly that kind of situation -- him as head coach, and his son as offensive or defensive coordinator. I really don't see him leaving unless that type of opportunity happens.
