This I'll agree with. Mainly because nobody else would have picked up Norv as Head Coach. Especially when we could have had Rex Ryan. Grrrr!!! On the other hand, I was OK with Marty though I would have been fine with releasing him for somebody who can get us to the big game. Norv is a step backwards. Though I don't see Michael Turner being a mistake. It was either him or release LT. One team wasn't big enough for both of them and LT was in his primes at that time. Same way either Brees or Rivers had to go. As good as Brees is, you don't draft a Top 5 pick to ride the bench. Though I am angered with the current release of LT. Wish we had your coach. LOL! |

Though I don't like AJ, I have to disagree that Norv is not the problem. He was handed a 14-2 team that was fully loaded and in 4 seasons, all he has to show for it is 3 playoff wins. If he at least got the Chargers to the Super Bowl, I'd say "he achieved the minimum." He hasn't. No surprise... what did he do for the Redskins and Raiders? NOTHING! |

Since you like jokes, I've got a good one! Since that Super Bowl appearance season in 2002... 36-92! :D Next season they'll get at least 10 losses and have made a great achievement... over 100 losses in 9 season! |

I admit I'm biased because I'm a HUGE Shottenheimer fan, even though I probably still can't spell his name right. :D |

I was very happy when Marty came here cause making bad teams good is his specialty. Cleveland was a mess and he was one weird fumble away from getting them to the Super Bowl. Kansas City was a mess and he got them to the playoffs. IMO they were not a good team either. Without Neil Smith and Derrik Thomas (bless his heart) they were terrible. Coaching was the reason for their success. My Chargers were a mess and he got us to the playoffs for the first time in almost a decade. I think we would have had a Super Bowl title by now if we kept him. |

As Head Coach, he came to the Chargers at 58-82-1 in the regular season and 1-1 in post season. That is a horrible resume! A lot of fans wanted Marty gone after that home playoff loss in 2006 BUT had they known that Norv would be the replacement, they would have spoke differently, and they do today. Though I like Marty, I would have been fine with releasing him for somebody capable of getting the Chargers to the Super Bowl and winning it. They didn't. And yes... every season I hear from Raiders fans "how many rings do you have?" I ask them "WHAT GOOD HAVE YOUR RINGS DONE FOR YOU LATELY?!!!" |

Yup. That's why I don't make predictions anymore. Though I feel good that next season we'll have Vincent Jackson the whole season and with the numbers Rivers puts up... that's got to take us further sometime. Cowboys did it despite of Switzer, we can do it despite of Norv. |

I wouldn't mind having him here as OC but as HC... forget it! Though our Special Teams were awful last season, there were still several games we should have and could have won despite of them. Before last season, we had one of the best Special Teams in the league for the last 4-6 years. Under the same ST coach too. |
