The New Orleans Saints have offered a restricted free agent tender to offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod, his agent Rich Rosa confirmed. A league source also confirmed receiver Lance Moore has received one. No doubt, there are plenty more out there as well, with 19 potential restricted free agents on the Saints' roster.
Many teams around the league have begun to send out RFA tenders over the past week, though it seems to be an insignificant step since the NFL's current collective bargaining agreement is set to expire Friday. It's not even clear if Bushrod and Moore will wind up being restricted free agents or unrestricted free agents when a new CBA is reached. Moore is a five-year veteran, and Bushrod is a four-year veteran. Under the old rules, a player became eligible for unrestricted free agency when he had four years of service or more. I wish they would have given Moore a three-year contract. He is arguably Drew's favorite target and is easily one of the most underrated receivers in the league.
Does anyone out there know how much money he would be offered with this tender? |

......and unlike most of our receiver corp, Lance doesn't drop squat. He needs more playing time.....period.

Although it's not shown on the Twitter page here for some reason, Lance's tweets last night implied that he wasn't at all happy about being offered a 1-year tender. Was looking for a long-term offer and was a little p.o.'d that he didn't get one.
Anyone know how Twitter updates get posted to this board? Apparently they are not automatically posted here. There is a 7 hour gap in Lance's tweets yesterday, and if you follow his tweets, you know he posts much more frequently than that. |

Lance deserves a multi year extension, he is the only WR we have that i have not seen drop a pass in the last 3 years.
If i was him, i'd be pretty p***ed off too, he's earned the contract and yet every year we keep giving him one year tenders, not good at all. |

If Lance doesn't tweet at least 5 times a day there's something wrong going on

I agree with JP. We have the best WR Corps in the NFL, from starters to Practice Squad. Nothing else to say.
Edit: That being said; we can not keep all of these Top WR's guys. They are wanting to get paid. Someone will have to go. My bet is Lance or Devery. Weighting more towards Lance because he does want and has earned a big time money multi contract. I just don't know if the Saints are going to be the team to give it to him. (I guess there was something else to say) |
