Shanle Must Go!!!!!!
So much so, that I would start the 24th overall pick on game 1 vs letting Scotty Mistackles play another down as a starter. How the hell long is Vilma career gonna last if he gotta play 2 positions, DL to me is now a second round or free agent concern. We need a OLB from the 1st round!!!!!!

09 Shanle, was behind the depth chart to Scott Fujita, who was scheduled to be released..... He's not good, he's a hussler. But he not getting to the qb, and now he aint even husslin.
Ask Mashawn lynch who had the first shot on him on that 65 yard touchdown run that sealed our season. He probably can't tell you, but I can. Tapes don't lie. |

Don't forget, Shanle was to play the SLB and Casillas was going to play WLB. After Casillas got hurt Shanle reclaimed the WLB spot. We didn't really have a SLB step up on this team.
But IMHO I think he's the weakest link among our starting defense, and most of the other LB's we have are best suited for WLB as well. The problem is that no one stepped up and claimed his position, which means that Shanle is better than everyone else not named Vilma. I did notice that Dunbar looked really good at times, but looked lost in some other games. I'm all for new blood at OLB, in fact I'd like to see 2 or 3 new faces on the 53. |

I would worry about the other OLB spot first.

Don't know what film you're watching; but Shanle isn't the problem...
The weakest link on a healthy Saints D first squad is SS Roman Harper... If anything Shanle is usually coming from otherside to assist blown assignments... Shanle looks bad because he does play for style points; he plays to win... |
