this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Why do you people wanna keep this guy? He has done NOTHING but get hurt since he has been in the league. He would not be worth 3 mil a year. I would rather have Roby or Moore returning punts ...

I read what everyone said and all I can say is that I want him on the team. Reason why, Sean Payton wants him on the team and that all I need. You can argue stats and everything (in my view his stats suck), but if SP believe in him. I got to too. Who Dat!!!!!!!!

I think Payton knows Reggie isn't all that good, but he's probably better than some 5th RB we'd carry. |

Here I'll settle it...
Reggie is neither a good nor bad punt returner, he's just average...which sounds about right. Given his average yard per return numbers and his tendancy to muff punts, he's replaceable not only in the back field... but as a returner too. While many be at the edge of their seats when the ball is coming his way, I cringe. |

Every time a back lines up he's situational. Reggie, if he stays, will be in the regular rotation, what ever that means. Payton will use all of them (Bush, PT, Ingram, Ivory) as he sees fit, and for what ever purpose he is scheming at that moment. I'm invisioning a two back set with Reggie and one of the other three: run/play action/Reg-in-motion...I'll bet there are 20 new pages in the play book, ala Sean Payton. If injuries bite us again, I think we're covered. Reggie will be running as hard as he was during the SB playoff stretch. Even with a restructured 3-4 year deal, his performance will dictate his new trade value. He will once again be playing at the top of his game. Another SB wouldn't look bad on his resume'.

My 86 year old grand mother can do an average job as the Saints Punt returner...
She wasn't drafted #2 over all and will contracted for 11 million. I think I can get her to do it for a mil. The best part about it I don't think she will have a fumble. |
