Tampa rookie already begrudging the Saints for not picking him
We’re not sure on this because Tampa Bay rookie linebacker Mason Foster didn’t name the team, but he could be coming into the league with a very big grudge toward the New Orleans Saints.
Foster was selected in the third round (No. 84 overall). Foster said he’s out to prove he was “the steal of the NFL draft." He also said there was one team that called him earlier in the round and put him on hold and then hung up. Foster said he later found out that team was debating between him and another player. He said he plans to make that team regret its decision. But there’s at least a chance that team could be the Saints. Look back at this recap of the third round. The last team to take a linebacker before Foster was the Saints. They took Martez Wilson at No. 72 overall. If the Saints were that team that hung up, Foster could have a little extra motivation for two games each season. New Orleans Saints - NFC South Blog - ESPN | |

Can't wait to see Ingram blow right through him, with massive blocking from our veteran O line. And then offer a hand down, pick him up off the dirt, and say "welcome to the NFL, son, we can do this all day...."

If it was the Saints that hung up on him, you could understand why he would be pissed. Tampa Bay or the Saints? Hummm, let me think. The Bucs were straight up lucky last year. They probally will only win half the games they did last year.

I think the lesson here is to see just how far this team has progressed in terms of perception. This player obviously wanted to be a Saint! This sentiment, I am sure, resonates amongst Free Agents as well. Nevertheless, it'll be fun when he'll get a few welcome-to-the-NFL-remember-me-shots from our Offense, provided he even gets on the field.

Actually, that doesn't sound like something our organization would do. The proper thing to have done would be thank them for their time and wish them well. Neither Loomis or Payton would just hang up on somebody. We have too much class running the Saints.
